چکیده

In this paper, a printed wideband Yagi-Uda antenna with a novel folded dipole driver is proposed. The folded dipole driver is comprised of a folded dipole and a microstrip feedline which functions as an internal balun to mainly determine its wide impedance bandwidth. With the optimized parameters, an operating band of 1.69 GHz ∼ 2.72 GHz can be obtained. Besides the folded dipole driver, the broadband printed Yagi-Uda antenna also consists of three directors and a reflector. Its wideband performance is mainly determined by the folded dipole driver, while the reflector and directors improve its performance slightly. By optimizing the geometrical parameters of the folded dipole driver, a bandwidth of 61.8% (1.53GHz ∼ 2.93GHz) for return loss being higher than 10 dB is achieved. The proposed printed Yagi-Uda antenna is realized on FR4 substrate with a measured operating bandwidth of 62% (1.51GHz ∼ 2.94GHz), a flat gain (5.6 dB ∼ 7.3 dB), more than 10 dB front-to-back ratio and lower than −15 dB cross-polarization level.

Design, Analysis and Optimization of V-dipole and Its Three-element Yagi-uda Array

This paper presents an optimum design technique of an asymmetric V-dipole antenna and it’s a three-element Yagi-Uda array using Genetic Algorithm (GA). The optimization parameter for the V-dipole is the directivity and that for the Yagi-Uda array are the input impedance and directivity. The theoretical analysis has been done using a Moment-Method technique in a very simple step-by-step way, and...

A novel methodology for antenna design and optimization: Variable Zo

This paper describes “Variable 0 Z ,” a novel and proprietary approach to antenna design and optimization. The new methodology is illustrated by applying it to the design of a resistively-loaded bowtie antenna and two broadband Yagi-Uda arrays. Variable 0 Z is applicable to any antenna design or optimization methodology. Using it will result in generally better antenna designs across any usersp...

A Novel Yagi-Uda Dipole Array Fed by A Microstrip-To-CPS Transition

We report the design and experiment of a novel Yagi-Uda dipole array fed by a MS-to-CPS transition. The Yagi-Uda array having one director on the same plane of the dielectric substrate as the driver element shows higher gain (9.1dB) than microstrip patch antennas and a much wider bandwidth (10.3%). The measured front-to-back ratio is about 15dB. This novel design should become an important alte...
